Bethlehem Twp. Firefighters and Paramedics
travel to Berks County to assist with Traffic
|
Fire Station 17 was dispatched on Thursday
February 15, 2007 at 8:19 AM to assist Berks County EMA with I-78
Traffic Closures. Firefighters and EMS members responded with Off-Road
Rescue units and snowmobiles to provide assistance to stranded
motorists. Bethlehem Twp. responded to the Hamburg area where the
command post was established. Crews worked for 10 hours providing food
and water to motorists that were stranded in the eastbound direction. Assisting agencies from Northampton County: Williams, Plainfield, and Bushkill Twp. and Southeastern, Leithsville and Steel City fire companies from Lower Saucon Twp.
