EARLY MORNING CRASHES BLAMED ON ICY ROADS

The first icy roads of 2007 caused a busy morning for Bethlehem Twp. and Nancy Run Fire and EMS Crews. The 1st accident was reported at 9:02 on Route 33 North in the area of William Penn Highway. A vehicle lost control on black ice, which caused it become disabled in the grass median. While the occupants of that vehicle were awaiting police assistance, another vehicle crashed in the same location. The 2nd vehicle reported to have flipped and landed in the same area as the first accident. While crews were tending to the 2 accidents, another accident was reported a short distance away at Route 33 North at I-78 west off ramp. Fire Crews tended to all accidents, and assisted EMS, and provided traffic control. Penn Dot was also on scene to assist. PSP Belfast handled the investigation.
